Packaging
The Montreal Public Markets (MPM for short) is a key part of Montreal’s vibrant food culture, offering fresh and local produce, artisanal goods, and speciality products. These markets not only provide access to high-quality, seasonal food, but also foster a strong sense of community. They support local farmers, producers, and artisans, contributing to Montreal's reputation as a city with a rich and diverse culinary scene.
I was tasked with creating a seed kit and a tea packaging set for the MPM.
My concept was to make an educational kit targeted towards a mature adult audience. As the people who visit these markets are most likely to be health-conscious individuals, this focus would likely interest them. Although my initial concept had bags in the packaging, it evolved into a less wasteful solution.
I went with a purely typographic approach, as I believe in my audience's ability to read. I created a layout that was engaging but kept hierarchy and legibility in mind. I opted for a focus on well-placed type and didn’t use any imagery or decorative elements because it reflects the concept and creates a mature, organic result. The chosen material of the packaging reinforces this organic feel.
